PRAYER STUDY ACTION
As people of faith, we understand peace as a gift from God which we must constantly accept. In prayer, we receive strength and support to sustain us as we make peace in our hearts, which must happen before we can follow the Spirit to peace in our Church and world.
Waging peace demands an understanding of the complex world in which we live. We are committed to educating ourselves and our community in a variety of ways.
As Christians, we must act concretely and deliberately toward the Reign of Peace by advocating for the protection of human dignity through economic and political justice, and an end to all forms of violence.

Pax Christi Metro New York (PCMNY) upholds peacemaking as a critical imperative of the Christian calling. It attests to the inseparable bond between peace and justice. Through prayer, study, and action, PCMNY animates the personal practice and public witness of Catholics in the greater New York metropolitan area in community with others committed to non-violence.
Steeped in the Catholic tradition, our advocacy for peace and justice is based on the Church's social teaching and on Jesus Christ's lived example of prayer, nonviolence and solidarity with the poor. In that spirit, we offer seasonal reflections, prayers, and actions to do in solidarity with each other.
